How do you like the female blaze endermen that ripped you off?
ALL RIGHT, let’s clear something up here.
First off: I cannot control other people’s character designs. I think everyone has their own personal right to create whatever they want, as long as no one is getting hurt because of it. I love seeing what kinds of designs everyone comes up with, they’re all unique and great and it’s all in good fun. From what I’ve seen so far, no one’s character designs have been made with ill-will. No one has bad intentions here.
Secondly: I do not, nor will I ever, claim to be the “creator” of enderblazes. I know I was not the first to create an enderblaze, and I certainly will not be the last. In my personal headcannon, the chances of a blaze and an enderman meeting (and especially becoming mates) are basically impossible, so Dantae is the only enderblaze in existence. Now, it’s important to remember that that is my PERSONAL HEADCANNON, and my own ideas don’t always line up with everyone else’s. And you know what? That’s the beauty of it. Everyone has their own ideas and yet we can still make our characters mesh and interact and that’s the wonderful thing about all of these askblogs.
Third: Is it obvious that (the character you’re referring to) is inspired by Dantae’s design? Absolutely. There is no doubt that the artist likes how I depict Dantae, and so they took some attributes and placed it on their character. The placement of some of the colours and the hooves are the biggest similarities. But you know what? It’s not a rip-off, and it’s not copying. It’s a little flattering. There are enough differences in the character’s design so that the artist really made that design their own.
With all of that in mind, it’s important to recognize the difference between being inspired by a design and making it your own, and copying. This character is kind of pushing the barrier a little, but again, it’s still unique enough to pass. See? No harm done.
Lastly, if you are thinking of making an enderblaze character and are worried about your design looking too much like Dantae, please come talk to me! I will be happy to work your design out with you and help you to the best of my ability.
I’m going back to my school tomorrow (winter break is over… sniff sniff) and I won’t have very much time to reply to anything in my inbox for the first few days, so that’s why I’ll be so slow! Sorry about that ):
Aaaand also gotta finish the comic.
Thanks for your patience everyone!
Leaving today! Toodles my darlings <3
